Microsoft has quietly raised prices across its Surface lineup, joining a recent trend of cost increases for its hardware. Most existing models now cost about 20% more, affecting the Surface Laptop, Surface Pro, and even power accessories.
The base price for both the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop and 13-inch Surface Pro jumped from $1,000 to $1,200. Interestingly, the newly announced Surface devices introduced this week remain at their original (already high) prices, while the 15-inch Surface Laptop stays unchanged at $1,300.
Accessories weren’t spared either—the 65W power supply now costs $120 (up from $90), and the 127W version increased to $175 from $125.
For now, retailers like Best Buy and Amazon still list the older prices, making them a better option if you’re in the market for a Surface device.
This follows Microsoft’s recent Xbox price hikes, where the Xbox Series X went up by $80 and the Xbox Series S by $100. While the company hasn’t directly linked these increases to tariffs, the timing raises questions—especially after Microsoft declined to comment when asked about the notably higher starting prices of its latest Surface models.
